Build lots of routes from coal mines to one power station, and when you have enough money, start a separate network somewhere else and expand it from there, also expanding the coal mines to power station route. This is a slow way to make money, but it can be more profitable than aircraft. Share. Improve this answer.

LSky • 9 yr. ago.Extra Zoom (EZ) / Full Zoom (FZ) is about the additional zoom level support (1x/2x/4x), which allows for the use of more sprites which allows artists to create with more fine detail (at the cost of larger file sizes). OpenTTD doesn't support 3D graphics, but you can use 3D graphics sources rendered down to a 2D file. A 256x256 map in Simutrans with Pak128 has only a few types of industries. If a map doesn't have an easy industry like a power plant, then the game is more difficult. The economy in Simutrans is more difficult than OpenTTD. OpenTTD limits each company to a small loan, so larger companies can easily pay off their loan.

Depends on the NewGRF. Most of them are designed for starting around the time the first vehicles are introduced. For example, with NARS (one of my favorites), good starting years are between 1830 (when the first loco, the Grasshopper, is introduced) and 1850 (introduction of the 4-4-0 "American").
